David Cordes has been with the Department since the Fall of 1988.  His research interests focus primarily on software systems, including distributed and networked systems as well as component-based development.  He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S. in Computer Science in 1982, received his M.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1984, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Louisiana State University in 1988. He served as department head for the Computer Science Department from 1997 to 2018.
